FAQ

FAQ

How Many Vehicles Can I Have in my list?

A: You can start your digital garage with one vehicle for free. To track your entire fleet, we offer a small, one-time “Pro” upgrade. This unlocks unlimited vehicle slots—or as many as your phone’s storage can handle!
Once you’re Pro, you can manage your daily, your project car, and your 4×4 all in one place

What If I Want A New Feature Added?

A: We’d love to hear it! Redline Auto Hub is built by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts, which means the roadmap is driven by the people actually using the app in their garages. If there is a tool or feature that would make your life easier, we want to know about it.
How to suggest a feature:

  • Social Media: Send us a message on our Facebook Page. We’re active there and love chatting with the community.
  • Direct Feedback: Use the contact form on our website to send a detailed request.

What happens next?
We review every suggestion we receive. If it’s something that fits the app’s goal of making vehicle management simpler, we’ll add it to our development queue. For example, our upcoming Diagnostics Board and In-App Camera features were both born from real-world needs. While we can’t build everything overnight, we are committed to making this the best tool in your digital toolbox.

Where Is Your Team Based?

We are based in Australia.

What Languages is the app available in?

English (Australia)

English (United States)

English

We plan to support more languages in the future.

Do you have access to user data?

No, Redline Auto Hub does not have access to any user data. The preservation of user privacy stands as one of our core values during the development of Redline Auto Hub. Recognising that many other mobile apps and solutions in the market store extensive user data, we made it a foundational principle in the creation of our app to prioritise and safeguard user privacy.

Looking ahead, we are planning to introduce a feature that enables users to back up their data. This will be entirely optional, allowing users to choose whether to utilise this functionality and securely back up their data for future use.

How can I provide feedback or report a bug?

Absolutely! To share your valuable feedback, simply click on the feedback button located within the app’s settings menu.

Alternatively, you can reach out to us via email at support@redlineautohub.com. We appreciate your input and look forward to hearing from you!

What devices and operating systems are supported?

A: Redline Auto Hub is designed to work across a wide variety of platforms, ensuring you can manage your garage whether you are under the hood with your phone or at your desk on a computer.

Here is the current breakdown of supported systems:

  • Android: Fully supported on smartphones and tablets running Android 8.0 or later. (PUBLIC RELEASE AVAILABLE NOW)
  • iOS: Supported on iPhones and iPads (currently in Closed BETA).
  • Windows: CANCELLED
  • Mac: Supported on all modern Macs (Apple Silicon M1, M2, M3) via the App Store. (Will be released at the same time as IOS)
  • Chrome OS: Fully supported on Chromebooks that have access to the Google Play Store.

Important Note on Data: While we support multiple operating systems, your vehicle data is stored locally on your device to protect your privacy. If you want to view your data on a different device (e.g., moving from your phone to your Windows PC), you can simply use the built-in Backup & Restore feature to move your database file

What happens if I deny certain permissions?

Please be aware that restricting access to certain permissions may result in the app experiencing disruptions, including potential crashes.

For instance, our app requests camera permissions to enable users to capture photos of their vehicles and service receipts. Without granting access to this permission, the app may encounter functionality issues or crashes.

Why does the app require certain permissions, and what are they used for?

As of Feb 1, 2023, the app currently requests three specific permissions: camera, photos, and storage.

The camera permission is essential for capturing images of your service receipts and vehicle, ensuring convenient access. Similarly, the photo/gallery permission is utilised to store these images within the app for easy retrieval.

Additionally, storage permissions enable the app to save information locally on your device, including user input, for a seamless and personalised experience.

If I pay for the iOS app, do I have to pay for the app again on Mac?

No, you do not need to buy the app twice.

A: No. If you purchase the Pro upgrade on your iPhone or iPad, you do not have to pay for it again on your Mac.
We utilise Apple’s Universal Purchase system. This means that as long as you are signed in to the same Apple ID on both your mobile device and your Mac, your “Pro” status will carry over automatically.
What you need to know:

  • Mac Compatibility: This applies to all modern Macs (Apple Silicon/M1, M2, M3 chips) that can run iOS apps directly from the Mac App Store.
  • One-Time Unlock: Just like on Android, this is a single purchase that unlocks the full potential of the app across your entire Apple ecosystem.
  • Restoring Access: If you install the app on your Mac, and it doesn’t immediately show you as a Pro user, simply hit the “Restore Purchase” button in the app settings to re-sync with your Apple ID.
  • Data Reminder: Because we prioritise your privacy, your vehicle data is stored locally on your device. To see your iPhone’s garage on your Mac, you will need to use the Backup & Restore feature to move your data over.
Do I need to purchase the Android app again if I want to use it on Chrome OS?

A: No, you do not need to purchase the app again. Because Redline Auto Hub is an Android app, any one-time purchase you make is tied directly to your Google Account, not the specific device you are using.
If you use the same Google Account on your Chromebook as you do on your phone, you can simply open the Google Play Store on your Chromebook and download the app without paying twice.
A few things to keep in mind:

  • Manual Install: Your Chromebook won’t automatically download the app just because it’s on your phone; you will need to search for it and click “Install” on the Chromebook Play Store.

  • Restoring Pro Access: If you upgraded to Pro on your phone and it doesn’t show up immediately on your Chromebook, look for a “Restore Purchase” button in the app settings to re-verify your status.
  • Data Sync: While the app purchase is shared, your vehicle data is stored locally on your device for privacy. You will need to use the Backup & Restore feature to move your vehicle list from your phone to your Chromebook.
Is there a monthly subscription fee?

A: No way. We hate subscriptions as much as you do. Redline Auto Hub is a one-time purchase to unlock Pro features. Once you’ve paid for the upgrade, it’s yours for life—no recurring fees, no “premium” monthly tiers, and no surprises on your credit card statement.

I have to reinstall the app, but iTunes is requesting additional payment!

A: Don’t panic—you do not have to pay twice for the same app. If you are seeing a price tag when trying to reinstall, it is usually due to one of three things:

  • The “Buy” Button Glitch: On the App Store, the button may occasionally show the price instead of the “Cloud” download icon. If you are using the exact same Apple ID you used for the original purchase, clicking “Buy” will often trigger a message saying, “You’ve already purchased this. This update is free,” and the download will begin without a charge.
  • The “Restore Purchase” Step: If you have already reinstalled the app but the “Pro” features are locked, go to the app’s Settings and tap “Restore Purchase.” This forces the app to check your Apple ID for existing licenses.
  • The New App ID (Legacy Users): Because this is a re-release under our new developer account (Arctic Luna Devworks), Apple technically sees this as a brand-new product. If you bought the original Redline Auto Hub years ago, the App Store won’t automatically recognise that purchase for this new version.

Is my data shared with other users?

A: Absolutely not. Your data belongs to you, and we have no interest in snooping through your garage or selling your service history to third parties.
How we handle your privacy:

  • Local Storage: All your vehicle details, service logs, and part numbers are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to a central server or shared in a “cloud” that we can access.
  • Zero Sharing: We do not share your information with other users. Your “Project Pajero” or your business fleet is private to you.
  • No Tracking: We don’t track your location or your driving habits. The app is a tool for your workshop, not a tracker for an insurance company.
  • You Control the Backups: When you use the Backup & Restore feature, the database file is generated on your device. You choose where to save it (like your own Google Drive, iCloud, or an external hard drive). We never see that file.

Because we are a small Aussie operation built by enthusiasts, we value privacy as much as you do. We built this app to be a digital logbook, not a data-mining operation.

Can I use the app while I’m off-grid or out bush?

A: Absolutely. Because your data is stored locally on your phone, you don’t need an internet connection to view your logs or add a new service entry. Whether you’re at the local workshop or halfway through the Simpson Desert, your digital logbook is always accessible. (You only need a connection if you’re downloading the app for the first time or performing an optional backup to the cloud).

As we strive for cross-platform accessibility, our team is actively working on the development of the Windows version. Stay tuned for updates on the upcoming release for Windows devices.

Can I use the app offline?

Our mobile app is designed to operate seamlessly without requiring an internet connection. Enjoy the convenience of using our app anytime, anywhere.

What happens if I lose my phone or get a new one?

A: Since we don’t store your data on our servers (for your privacy), it’s important to use the Backup & Restore feature. We recommend flicking a backup file to your email or saving it to your Google Drive/iCloud once a month. If you get a new phone, just install the app, hit “Restore,” and pick your backup file. Everything—including your Pro status—will be right back where you left it.

Right now we offer a monthly notification on android where you can easily click back up now.

Apple’s IOS and iPad OS is different due to the way Apple works with iCloud your data is backed up to their cloud every night. The same as any other IOS App

This upcoming feature will offer users the option to securely back up their data to the cloud, providing a seamless and reliable means of preserving their information.

Can I sync data between multiple devices using the app?

This would require us to have your information stored in a server so no. We don’t hold our users data it your data not our to mine.

Does Redline Auto Hub have ads?

NO! We dislike ads and do not have any intentions on bringing ads to our platform.

Do I need to purchase the Android app again if I want to use it on Chrome OS?

No, you only need to purchase the app once. The same Android app works on both Android and Chrome OS devices.

You can redownload the app anytime on any device, as long as you use the same Playstore account that you used to buy the app. The purchase is valid for life.
